Dutch cucumber greenhouse becomes camper storage

The greenhouse of Albert and Jolanda Kosdi in Oosterhout has recently been prepared — not for a new crop, but for... campers. The cucumber growers have ended their cultivation, and the greenhouse is now nearly ready to serve as the new home of Stalling Noord-Oost. The couple's own camper is already parked inside.

In an interview with the Reformatorisch Dagblad (€), Albert and Jolanda explain that with no successor to take over the business, they started exploring other options five years ago. Housing development on their 3-hectare greenhouse site didn't materialize, and following a suggestion from the local municipality, the former growers began transforming the facility into a camper storage space.

An interesting detail: their neighbors already run a caravan storage facility. One clear advantage of campers? Owners can drive them in and out of the greenhouse themselves — no assistance needed.
