Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, is home to three wholesale fruit and vegetable markets, often referred to as bazaars. These markets are a colorful mix of stalls – some under cover, others in the open – where wholesalers, importers, and growers of all sizes come together to sell their fresh produce.
Buyers ranging from retailers and specialty stores to foodservice distributors and restaurateurs can start shopping as early as 6 a.m. The selection includes a wide range of fruits and vegetables, most of which are sourced domestically or from neighboring Turkey and Azerbaijan.
