WDG Farm launches South Korea's largest European-style vegetable greenhouse

WDG Farm said it has completed a 25,439 square meter (about 8,000 pyeong) 'European-style vegetable greenhouse' and has begun trial operations as of the 18th. It is the largest semi-closed greenhouse in the country.

WDG Farm applied an advanced system that integrates its own semi-closed glass greenhouse technology with the latest European horticultural technology known as Mobile Gully System (MGS) for automation.

The company also introduced a high-efficiency cooling system to maximize production volume and quality. It can produce 130 kilograms per pyeong. WDG Farm anticipates a production increase of over 300% on a monthly average compared to soil cultivation, reducing the production days to 20 and allowing for 18 harvests a year.

The annual production of the greenhouse is expected to be 1,040 tons, and WDG Farm anticipates new sales of about 30 billion won. Following tomatoes and tomango, the company plans to broaden its crop varieties with European-style vegetables and accelerate its agricultural business.
