Italian Gentile Group: Summer berries production in full swing

"Raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries grown at high altitudes to meet all commercial expectations"

The small fruit segment continues to grow at a fast pace in the European fruit and vegetable landscape. Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and currants are no longer niche products but rather strategic offerings that appeal to new consumption trends driven by wellness, taste, and convenience.

In this competitive and rapidly evolving context, the Gentile Group specializes in the production and marketing of high-end berries.

"With the winter production cycle behind us, we are now focusing on the marketing and production of small berries cultivated at high altitudes," explains manager Loris Gentile. "We are committed to meeting our customers' needs by ensuring a steady supply of raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries cultivated at high altitudes, thus responding to the increasing demand for berries throughout the season."

Drawing from its experience in the sector and industry-wide vision, the Gentile Group has developed a fully integrated supply chain that oversees every phase of the production cycle, from varietal research to distribution. This approach guarantees consistent quality standards over time, which has become a crucial aspect for today's consumers.

"We prioritize being a reliable partner for our customers. The production and marketing of small fruits grown at high altitudes allows us to respond promptly to the needs of the end consumer and guarantee 365 days of continuous service," says Francesca Quinto, a founding partner of the Gentile Group. "Maintaining the cold chain is crucial when marketing small fruits because they are extremely delicate, especially during this time of year when temperatures are soaring. After they are harvested, the fruits are weighed and sorted in temperature-controlled environments to best preserve their quality, freshness, and organoleptic characteristics."

This process ensures product quality throughout the supply chain, all the way to the end consumer.

"With modern production facilities, a high-tech processing plant, and an extensive logistics network, we can serve the domestic market with fast deliveries, personalized service, and guaranteed traceability."

"We look to the future with confidence, knowing that the future of small fruits depends on our ability to combine consistent quality with a strong brand identity. We continue to build our growth on these pillars, knowing that we can combine innovation, consistency, and sustainability," say Loris and Francesca.

Varietal research and a tailor-made agronomic approach
The Gentile Group's technical team is constantly developing varietal selection programs to produce fruit with the ideal balance of sweetness, firmness, shelf life, and yield. This selection is calibrated according to the different microclimates of southern Italy, particularly in Policoro, Basilicata, where the company concentrates its main production areas."
