German strawberry supplies dominated and intensified once again. Open-field produce was not entirely convincing in terms of its organoleptic properties; tunnel-grown produce had advantages in this respect. In terms of importance, Dutch and Polish deliveries were closest to domestic supplies, while loads from Belgium, Greece, and Italy were only supplementary. However, southern European products in particular occasionally showed quality defects, resulting in a wide price range in some cases. Returns from food retail further increased this range.
Overall, demand was not particularly strong at first, according to the BLE, as the often changeable and rainy weather had limited storage options. However, the poor weather also meant that availability was limited. In this case, prices tended to rise. On Wednesday, with the public holiday in sight, customers increased their purchases, causing prices to rise. On Friday, traders then often reduced their asking prices to reduce stocks, but this was not always successful.

Apples
Domestic loads usually dominated. Demand was met without difficulty. Nevertheless, prices for European offers rose slightly from time to time due to volume.
Table grapes
Chilean loads still dominated, but they lost ground significantly. The presence of Indian and Peruvian offers, and especially South African offers, also declined noticeably.
Cherries
There is now a slightly stronger supply available, with Spanish offers leading the way by a wide margin. The color of the fruit improved slowly, so that the products attracted considerable attention.
Peaches and nectarines
Spanish deliveries clearly dominated. Demand improved in some areas, so that, with the more appealing quality, turnover accelerated.
Apricots
Spanish supplies dominated the range. Availability increased. Demand was not unfavorable, but it could not always keep pace with the increased supply.
Lemons
Supplies were sufficient to meet demand, which was not particularly strong. Prices developed unevenly.
Bananas
Business was relatively quiet across the board.
Cauliflower
Domestic supplies formed the basis of the market. Availability was not excessive and was in line with storage capacity.
Lettuce
In the case of iceberg lettuce, the previously dominant Spanish offers now played only a minor role: domestic loads at this moment dominated ahead of Dutch ones.
Cucumbers
Domestic, Dutch, and Belgian offers were available in the cucumber segment. Business was uneventful. Demand was met without difficulty.
Tomatoes
As in previous weeks, Dutch and Belgian deliveries dominated. Overall, availability was limited. However, this did not affect prices.
Sweet peppers
Deliveries from the Netherlands dominated, but were slightly limited. Demand was quite good and could be met without difficulty. Nevertheless, prices often rose.
Asparagus
Domestic shipments dominated the market. Availability was noticeably limited overall and was not always sufficient to meet demand. As a result, prices tended to rise.
