Australia: GGA and Farmanco announce round 3 in-kind support for WA Grower Groups

GGA is pleased to announce the recipients in Round 3 of the Farmanco in-kind Sponsorship Program. The three-year partnership with Farmanco provides GGA members the opportunity to apply for a portion of transferable, in-kind sponsorship support provided to GGA, which leverages Farmanco's expertise and resources to bring member ideas to life.

Round 3 saw seven member applications submitted, and two of those initiatives have been selected to receive a combined total of in-kind support valued at $17,500. The Round 3 recipients are Facey Group and the Society of Precision Agriculture Australia (SPAA).

Facey Group's project, "Capacity Building for Farmers," will deliver a workshop series focusing on ongoing farm business training. The workshops will cover key areas such as risk management, market awareness, business planning, and technology utilization. This initiative received an allocation of $11,250 of in-kind support from the GGA sponsorship program, along with an additional separate contribution of $1,250 from Farmanco to enable its full execution.

SPAA's project will focus on "Tech authoring of articles for Precision Ag News," outlining available software products in SPAA's quarterly industry magazine. This initiative will provide valuable insights and information to farmers looking to adopt precision agriculture technologies. Farmanco has allocated $6,250 from the GGA sponsorship program to the completion of this initiative.

GGA CEO Rikki Foss said, "This unique in-kind sponsorship program provides groups with a new level of capacity building to benefit WA's agricultural industry."

Farmanco CEO Amanda Bogunovich highlighted that the program, delivered in partnership with GGA, offers an opportunity to extend its support more broadly. It will assist grower groups in building industry capacity while promoting innovation and strengthening resilience in farm businesses.

Over the three-year duration of the program, 13 GGA member groups' initiatives have been supported, utilizing the full $52,500 in in-kind sponsorship made available to members through the GGA–Farmanco partnership.
