US (PA): County program providing free coupons to older residents to purchase fruits, vegetables returns

A program in Northampton County offering coupons to eligible residents aged 60 and over to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from approved farmers markets is returning.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides $25 in free coupons, according to a news release from the county. The Northampton County Area Agency on Aging administers the program.

To qualify for the program in 2025, the county says participants must be age 60 or older, be a Northampton County resident, meet income guidelines (Single: Annual income of $28,953 or less, Couple: Annual combined income of $39,128 or less). Both spouses may receive coupons if eligible.

The county says coupons can be obtained only once per season and are available from June 2 to September 10, 2025. Redemption period: Coupons may be used through November 30, 2025.
