Yesterday, Dutch greenhouse Delta welcomed the new Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr. Mammad Ahmadzada, along with First Secretary Mr. Jeyhun Khalilov, at World Horti Center.
Azerbaijan, a country with a long-standing tradition of fruit and vegetable cultivation and a diverse, agriculture-friendly climate, holds great potential for innovation in the sector. While agriculture is already deeply rooted in the country's heritage, there is always room to grow more efficiently and sustainably.
During the visit, Dutch Greenhouse Delta shared how Dutch growers - innovative entrepreneurs for over a century - have achieved some of the world's highest yields through knowledge, technology, and collaboration. They also explored the role of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) in producing healthier vegetables in a more efficient and profitable way.
Furthermore, it was discussed how a concept like the World Horti Center could serve as a model for Azerbaijan - emphasizing the critical importance of education and training in developing local specialists who can drive innovation using modern horticultural solutions.
