As found online, AGF Monitor compares weekly price trends for avocados, cauliflower, Galia melon, hand oranges, cucumbers, and vine tomatoes. Prices are monitored by Supermarktscanner.nl, with the survey conducted at the end of each week. Although clock prices for vine tomatoes and cucumbers are falling during this period, supermarket prices remain stable. Notably, while there are significant price differences in vine tomatoes, these are much smaller for cucumbers.
Avocado

Avocados are on sale in week 19 at both Dirk and Hoogvliet, priced at 99 cents and 1.29 euros each, respectively. At Jumbo, the price has returned to the level of week 17.
Cauliflower

Dirk has reduced the price of cauliflower by 30 cents, setting itself apart from other supermarkets where prices remain at around 2 euros. Dirk now offers cauliflower at 1.69 euros. Albert Heijn has temporarily matched the price cut with a promotion of 2.05 euros for 1.49 euros each.
Galia melon

The price of Galia melon is starting to rise, with both market leader Albert Heijn and price competitor Dirk increasing prices by 20 and 30 cents, respectively. No price changes are yet visible at other supermarkets. At Hoogvliet, Galia is currently unavailable online.

Cucumber

Cucumber prices at national supermarkets have risen by 10 cents. At Plus, the increase is still "hidden" within a steep promotion (from 95 cents to 60 cents). DekaMarkt has reduced its price by 10 cents, matching the prices at Dirk and Vomar (79 cents each). Hoogvliet has also aligned with the 10-cent increase seen at other national supermarkets.

In addition to cucumbers, Albert Heijn is offering a discount on loose vine tomatoes (500 g) in week 19, with the price dropping by 34% to 89 cents. Vomar does not offer vine tomatoes in week 19.
Price and quality
Price data is sourced from Supermarktscanner.nl, based on online prices listed in the webshops of Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Plus, DekaMarkt, Dirk, and Hoogvliet. These prices are averages, including any ongoing promotions. The price comparison does not consider product origin or quality, as most supermarkets do not list these details online. Only Hoogvliet and Jumbo specify the country of origin. Consequently, this comparison may inadvertently include unripe avocados alongside ripe ones, or Spanish cucumbers alongside Dutch cucumbers.
Notes on the data
Vomar maintains fixed online prices. Avocados have been absent from the Vomar online range since 2022, and Galia has been unavailable since week 24. Hoogvliet and Vomar sell hand oranges in 1.5 kg nets, with prices adjusted to 2 kg for comparison. Jumbo only offers packaged vine tomatoes in packs of five rather than by weight (500 g or 1 kg). For this comparison, 100 g per tomato is used as the standard.
