Green Gas & Liquids, a young Dutch company founded in 2022, continues to provide carbon capture solutions tailored for the horticulture sector, building on the expertise and technology previously delivered by Frames. The company consists of former Frames employees, ensuring deep industry knowledge and a seamless transition of expertise. At Fruit Logistica, they were present for the first time. The company can be known for the technique used in several Dutch, Italian and German projects. This year, a new project in Austria is on the planning.

"With the acquisition Green Gas & Liquids carries forward a strong legacy in carbon capture and biogas treatment, leveraging proven technology to support sustainable CO₂ supply solutions for growers", says Laleh Hosseini, Managing Director, from the in the Netherlands, in Alphen aan den Rijn, based company.

Green Gas & Liquids portfolio
The horticulture industry faces two simultaneous challenges: managing CO₂ emissions and ensuring a steady supply of CO₂ for plant growth. Green Gas & Liquids provides carbon capture solutions with a strong focus on horticulture. Their proprietary Galloxol® Technology enables growers to capture CO₂ from various energy sources such as CHP, biomass boilers, and geothermal plants. This captured CO₂ can be directly used in greenhouses to enhance plant growth or repurposed for food and beverage applications, dry ice production, or long-term storage.
The Galloxol® advantage
Unlike conventional amine-based systems (suitable for petrochemical industry), Galloxol® Technology is built on an environmentally friendly, biodegradable solvent, explains Laleh. "Using this system, there are no solvent losses, which means no harmful emissions and a cleaner, safer solution." Because of no solvent losses, the solvent consumption is also lower. "It makes operational costs lower and also the need for maintenance is reduced." A third advantage is a higher energy efficiency. "Advanced heat integration minimizes external energy demand."

Proven success
Since 2019, multiple projects across Europe make use of the Galloxol® Technology. The first project was realized at DES, in the Netherlands in 2019. Wijnen Square Crops in Egchel is another Dutch project, realized in 2021. A third project with a complete carbon capture system was built in 2022 in Italy, for FNXP LNG. In the same year, another horticultural project was realized for Emsflower in Germany. In this case a project for flue gas preconditioning.
This year Green Gas & Liquids is working on a new project, in Austria. Merschl Gartenbau will get a complete carbon capture system. In Vienna the Galloxol® carbon capture solution will be integrated with the biomass boiler of the grower. Merschl Gartenbau will become independent in CO₂ supply, significantly increasing tomato production. The system, operational in late 2025, will provide CO₂ for an 8-hectare greenhouse.
In addition to new projects, Green Gas & Liquids provides ongoing maintenance and service support for previously installed renewable energy solutions.
