A considerable number of local farms are fully prepared to meet consumer demand for vegetables during the holy month of Ramadan, which falls this year in the peak of the agricultural season, a number of farm owners said.
Speaking to local Arabic daily Arrayah they explained that the farms can cover almost 90% of the local consumption during Ramadan, as all vegetables will be available in good quantities.
Local farm produce includes various types of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, zucchini, squash, and leafy greens such as coriander, parsley, radish, and onions. They also pointed out that strawberries will be available in markets during Ramadan.
Sedr fruits and ripe dates which are in high demand during Ramadan, along with other products such as olives, figs, and mulberries will be on display in good quantities soon.
