Tomato prices remain thin. In week 5, at the auctions of the Federation of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives, prices for both loose and trusses fell below the five-year average. Cucumber prices are also below the five-year average.
The average kilogram price for loose tomatoes comes to 1.518 euros per kilogram. For vine tomatoes, the average price comes to 1.558. A unit price of 64.6 euro cents is also nothing special. However, the prices are for now just above the 2024 prices.
The middle price for head lettuce is also below the five-year average. Here, unlike tomato and cucumber, the price also remains below the price in week 5 of 2024.
