Rovero and Growtec introduce soft fruit growing concept

"Robust construction and suspended growing systems for optimum soft fruit growing"

"The soft fruit sector is on the verge of a transformation," expects director Jacco van Delden of Rovero. Increasingly, the company was getting demand for not just a foil greenhouse, but a complete system for soft fruit growing. This is why the company has joined forces with Growtec. Together, they are now launching their first new cultivation concept for soft fruit cultivation, aimed at sustainably and efficiently increasing yields and fruit quality.

Robust canopy, hanging cultivation systems
Rovero is active in the development and realization of poly greenhouses, and Growtec in growing systems. Both areas of expertise were combined in the development of the AirVent fruit covering system, which Rovero is now introducing. "Field trials under this revolutionary covering film have already demonstrated yield increases of up to 15%", Jacco says, showing the base design which features a gutter height of 8.2 to 10.5 feet and a unique ventilation system. "The 14.4-foot wide structure includes a 3.6-foot gutter ventilation running the entire length and is covered with the new self-ventilating Vento-film."

"The robust construction with horizontal steel profiles can easily handle heavy loads and is perfectly suited for suspended growing systems, Growtec's area of expertise. Growing gutters are seamlessly rolled and installed on-site, equipped with state-of-the-art irrigation and optional fogging systems," he continues.

Pushing boundaries
"I have very high expectations for this partnership," states Ruud van Aperen, director of Growtec Netherlands. "We each fulfill a market need, and this joining of forces opens new perspectives for innovation and market development. This allows us to strongly position ourselves." Jacco van Delden adds: "We increasingly receive requests for high-quality growing solutions that combine increased yields with efficiency. Together, we can meet these needs and provide customized solutions for soft fruit growers looking to push boundaries."

Rovero and Growtec will be present at Fruit Logistica, Rovero in hall 3.1 A-62, Growtec at MJ-Tech in hall 3.2 A-02.
