VBT figures week 4

Belgian strawberry prices approach €10 per kilo

The average price for cucumber rose again in week 4 at VBT. At just over 70 euro cents a piece, this does not yet put the price above the five-year average, after a pricey start to the year.

The average price for tomatoes was close to the five-year average, with kilo prices of 1.50 euros for loose tomatoes and rounded to 1.63 euros for vine tomatoes.

Low-growth weather is currently making things difficult for growers. Here and there, some production delays are becoming apparent.

For cabbage lettuce, the price dropped below the five-year average last week. The average price here in week 4 was 48 euro cents per head.

The average price of strawberries has been rising since the start of 2025. This price increase continued in week 4 as well, now resulting in a kilogram price of 9.84 on average.
