Over the past 18 years at Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), Udo's main focus has been on developing LED lighting in greenhouse horticulture. 'In doing so, I learned, among other things, how to take innovations from idea to large-scale implementation in the sector. I also know what - apparent - barriers there are when you want to bring new cultivation systems to the market and how to overcome them. The key here is almost always close cooperation between parties within the sector, with a very important role for knowledge centers. Exactly what is central to the Club of 100.'

Jacqueline van Oosten, Business Development Manager at the Club of 100, is very pleased with the appointment of Udo van Slooten. 'The number of companies within the Club of 100 active in lighting is increasing. As one of the leaders in lighting technology, Signify can represent this group like no other. With his years of experience within the greenhouse sector and innovative vision, Udo also brings valuable knowledge to the Club.'
