NL: Koppert Cress begins construction for newest greenhouse

The first pile has been driven for Koppert Cress' newest greenhouse at De Poel 18 in Monster. The new greenhouse will cover an area of around 1.4 hectares and will serve as an extension of Koppert Cress' existing facilities.

Courtesy of construction partners Kubo Group and Vyverberg, the construction of this modern greenhouse is in line with Koppert Cress' growth ambitions and provides space for further development of high-quality products. Besides innovative cultivation techniques, the greenhouse will be equipped with sustainable energy solutions, including geothermal heat and the innovative Geysir glass. These contribute to the goal of further reducing the company's ecological footprint.

'The construction of this greenhouse is an important step in our mission not only to introduce healthy and special flavors but also to do so in a way that is future-proof and sustainable,' said Stijn Baan, general director of Koppert Cress. To mark this moment, Rob Baan and Theo Cuppen symbolically struck the first pile. The next few months will see hard work towards the realization of the project, which is expected to be completed in October 2025.
