Easton Valley FFA, as well as EV FFA Alumni and the Easton Valley Administration and School Board have been collaborating closely to secure funding for a 30’ x 60’ greenhouse. The greenhouse will enhance the agricultural education at Easton Valley High School along with potential benefits to the school lunch program.
The facility, to be located behind the high school agriculture room, will come equipped with a head house for ample storage and workspace, ensuring its efficient operation. The greenhouse will allow students to gain valuable experiences in the plant science field along with valuable business skills. Students will also have the opportunity to create business plans and see them through to the end.
The goal is to raise $225,000 to provide students with a greenhouse that will meet their needs for years to come.
The Easton Valley School Board has generously committed $25,000 towards the greenhouse structure, with additional funding set aside for benches and lighting once the structure is in place. We've also been awarded numerous grants, including a significant $12,500 from the Jackson County Community Foundation. With these contributions, the groups have secured $65,000 so far and are continuing to apply for additional grants as they work to continue securing funding.
