Sara Wexler new CEO of Fresh Leaf

Sara Wexler is stepping into the role of CEO at Fresh Leaf, an Australian herb company, succeeding Jan Vydra. Renowned as one of the primary suppliers of fresh herbs in Central and Eastern Australia, Fresh Leaf delivers nearly 200,000 fresh herb bunches weekly.

Catering to a diverse clientele, including supermarkets, airlines, restaurants, and the health sector, this homegrown Aussie enterprise handles the entire process—from cultivation and washing to packing and labeling—ensuring thousands of products are ready for next-day delivery. The company boasts a staff of over 160 people, from horticulturalists to supply chain logistics.

"Any new role is exciting, but this one, in particular, feels like coming home. Those familiar with my longstanding passion for gardening and connecting with nature know how much it means to me. This new role allows me to merge my corporate skills with a field I love. All in all, this new chapter is like turning over a new leaf!" Sara shared.

Jan Vydra announced earlier this month to step down as CEO. "After two decades of an enriching journey with Fresh Leaf, this chapter of my life is drawing to a close. This period has been filled with groundbreaking achievements, industry recognition, and the privilege of leading an incredible team," he said. "As I step down from my roles as CEO and Director, I look back with pride at what we've accomplished together. Yet, my dedication to Fresh Leaf's future as its major shareholder remains steadfast. I'm excited to see how we will continue to flourish and innovate."

The company produces and markets over 19 varieties of fresh herbs to both retail and wholesale customers across Australia.
