Pest management strategic plan (PMSP) workshop for strawberries

The PMSP for Strawberries in the Southern Region outlines pest management priorities, including EPA registration of pesticides, research funding allocation, grower, and scientific support. A PMSP workshop is planned to update the outdated 2000 version of the document. Workshop participation from growers, industry representatives, specialists, regulators, and processors in GA and SC is very important to inform pest management documents such as the PMSP. The workshop will aid in the development of the 2024 PMSP for Strawberries and will include information from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. To ensure information is collected from the entire region, a two-session workshop was planned. The first session took place earlier this month in North Carolina. The second session will be held in conjunction with the Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference in Savannah this coming January. The second session will focus on practices and priorities for FL, GA, and SC. This workshop is supported by the Southern IPM Center.

Workshop session #2 will be an in-person discussion between growers, specialists, extension agents, and other industry stakeholders involved in strawberry production in these states. If you are interested in attending, please register using the link below. Please register as we will have a breakfast and lunch for attendees.
