Dinajpur price of green chilies up Tk 40 per kg overnight

The price of green chilies has increased by Tk 40 per kg at Hili in Dinajpur due to reduced supply caused by rains. Also, Indian onion prices have increased by Tk 4 per kg.

Onion importers of the port say that there will be a few days off on the occasion of Qurbani Eid. Hence, a large quantity of onion has been imported from India through the port. Import and export will continue through this port till the next 26 Takhir. A lot of onions are stored in the warehouses.

On Friday, the Hili market saw an increase in the supply of imported onions in onion stocks. Although the import of chilies from India has stopped, the supply of local chilies has decreased in the Hili raw material shops. A day ago, raw chilies, which were sold at the rate of Tk 120 per kg in the retail market, are now being sold at Tk 160 per kg after an increase of Tk 40. A day ago, Indian imported onions were sold at the rate of Tk 26 to Tk 28 per kg in the retail market. It is now being sold at a price of Tk 30 to 32 per kg, which has increased by Tk 4.
