In the greenhouse of Baifukang Smart Agricultural Science and Technology Park in Linnan Town, Linyi County, workers shuttled among the tomato seedlings accompanied by soft music. In fact, the music isn't played for workers, but it is sound waves specially designed to stimulate the growth of tomatoes.
There are more and more varieties of tomatoes today, but the only thing missing is the "natural" taste of the tomatoes decades ago. To solve this problem and produce tomatoes with the purest taste, Liu Gongyu, head of the Park in Dezhou City, Shandong Province, applied physical "black technologies" such as high-voltage electrostatic fields and sound wave growth instruments to tomato planting greenhouses.
The Park is located in Linnan Town, Linyi County, Dezhou, Shandong. "Our tomatoes are produced to order and do not go through traditional wholesale distribution channels. Not only tomatoes, we are also planning to start edible mushroom planting, using the walls of the tomato greenhouse as shade. Mushrooms are shade-loving crops that don't need a lot of light to grow," Liu said.
The disinfection spray robot designed by Liu is running in the Park
"In addition to tomatoes, we are also actively exploring new strawberry cultivars, looking for strawberries that match more with the tastes of Chinese customers."
