Rangpur, Bangladesh:

Red chilis drying between railway lines create a pretty picture

At the Thakurgaon Sadar county Ruhia railway station, local farmers have left their ripe chili peppers to dry near the railway lines. This leads to a pretty picture worth sharing. Better prices are obtained if chilies are marketed dry. Therefore, every day from sunrise to sunset, sacks of ripe chilis are laid out on carpets, mats, and polythene on both sides of the railway line and in the middle of the floor to dry. After complete drying and after processing, the vegetables are ready for sale.

Apart from indigenous species, various hybrid varieties of pepper, including cumin, mallika, bindu, and hotmaster, have been cultivated in the district.
