Installation of solar panels over raspberry plants started

On Monday, May 1, 2023, the first piles were driven into the ground in Sint-Oedenrode for an eight-hectare Agri PV project. Raspberries will be installed under the panels. The Agri PV project is a first major collaboration between Green Meteor and GroenLeven, reports Green Meteor.

The poles are being driven into the ground.

Maarten van Hoof's horticultural company has been active with Agri PV since 2020. To see if Agri PV was going to work over raspberries, some of the raspberries were first fitted with Agri PV solar panels. The rest were grown traditionally to see the effect of the solar panels in comparison.

The raspberries have since been planted.

The pilot project was a success, according to Green Meteor, providing "sustainable raspberry farming."
