This Easter, pineapples, avocados, grapes, and berries were abundantly featured

This Easter, favorite items like pineapples, avocados, grapes, berries, potatoes, asparagus, green beans, Brussels sprouts, carrots, and sweet potatoes were abundantly featured. Passover staples such as apple and grape juice, honey, dates, and apples were advertised alongside seasonally popular items like parsnips, turnips, and parsley. Easter lilies and tulips were very popular this week, with ornamentals accounting for a much higher percentage of ads than normal.

Total ad numbers this week were 299,069, a 14% increase from last week's total of 263,163. The total for the same week last year was 6% lower than for this year. The total number of ads broken out by commodity groups: fruit 124,768 (42% of all ads), onions and potatoes 32,145 (11%), vegetables 124,584 (42%), herbs 1,024, ornamentals 14,700 (5%), and hemp 1,848. The number of ads for organic produce was 33,692, 11% of total ads.
