Russia: 700 tons vegetable produced in 15.5ha of greenhouses, in the Ryazan region

Since the beginning of 2023, 500 tons of cucumbers and 200 tons of tomatoes have been harvested in greenhouses in the Ryazan region.

The total area of winter greenhouses in the region is 15.5 hectares, and about 10 thousand tons of vegetables are produced annually. Basically, these are cucumbers and tomatoes, as well as eggplants, sweet peppers, and salads, but in much smaller volumes.

At the end of 2023, it is planned to launch a new greenhouse plant, “Ryazan Roses,” in the village of Ivkino, Ryazan district. Its area will be 6.4 hectares, with an expected production of 2.8 thousand tons of eggplants, salads, and green crops. A total of 150 new jobs will be created.

The second stage of the Ryazan Vegetables greenhouse complex in the Rybnovsky district, with an area of 18.1 hectares with an expected production of 10 thousand tons of vegetables, is scheduled for 2024. The first stage of the greenhouse economy has been operating since 2019.
