AU: Horticulture Field Day at Tatura Smartfarm

Agriculture Victoria is hosting a free horticulture field day at the Tatura Smartfarm on Thursday, March 23, from 10 am to 3 pm.

With an event motto of ‘Future-proofing horticulture in a changing climate,’ this event is bringing together horticultural growers, industry, and service providers to discuss recovery from recent industry impacts and explore innovations in horticulture.

Agriculture Victoria Horticulture Program Coordinator Goulburn Murray, Andy Clark said the day will be a great opportunity for those in the horticulture industry to come together for a few hours and discuss what is happening on their farms, what is working, and what isn’t, after a few challenging years.

“In the morning session, participants will hear from industry experts on making soils healthy after waterlogging, preparation of orchards for extreme weather conditions, and tips for managing disease in orchards,” Mr. Clark said.

“During the afternoon session, participants will enjoy a tour of the Tatura Smartfarm, incorporating demonstrations and conversations with exhibitors on topics such as business support, horticulture innovation and practices, and health and wellbeing.”

Mr. Clark said the day will offer growers some insights into issues they are currently facing on-farm, as well as exploring technologies that are currently leading the way in efficiency improvements for growers.”
