US: Biofungicied for disease protection to be available across all 50 states

Responding to market demand, Certis Biologicals will be making SoilGard® (Trichoderma virens) available to growers across all 50 states through trusted retailers and distribution channels.

SoilGard, a microbial fungicide, boasts an same easy-to-use granular formulation that contains a living, naturally-occurring soil fungus that is antagonistic to plant pathogenic fungi such as pythium, rhizoctonia, and fusarium. The product has a wide variety of label uses, including in greenhouses and nurseries, as well as on agricultural food crops and ornamentals. SoilGard is OMRI-Listed® and approved for use in organic and conventional agriculture.

“SoilGard provides growers with another sustainable, environmentally-friendly tool to protect a wide variety of crops against the diseases that threaten them,” says Tim Riley, National Sales Director. “Our team is proud to bring this product to growers so that they can feel comfortable trusting its efficacy while relying upon its flexibility and ease of use.”

SoilGard provides several key benefits for growers, including aiding in the flexibility of applications. With a zero-hour REI, SoilGard can be applied throughout the growing season, even up to harvest. Because of its formulation, it can be mixed with water and applied through soil drench, root dip, or through irrigation systems, but its dry granules can also be mixed directly into the soil or growing media.
