More than 5,000 tons of tomatoes arrived in Russia from Turkmenistan since the start of '23

A significant share of the supply of fresh tomatoes to the Russian market comes from Turkmenistan. Every year the Republic is increasing exports in this direction.

So, since the beginning of 2023, the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the city of Moscow, the Moscow and Tula regions have already inspected more than 270 vehicles and carried out quarantine phytosanitary control on about 5 thousand tons of fresh tomatoes that arrived on the territory of the Moscow region from Turkmenistan.

Specialists of the All-Russian Center for Plant Quarantine (FGBU "VNIIKR") conducted laboratory studies that confirmed the compliance of these products with quarantine phytosanitary requirements.

After successfully passing the quarantine phytosanitary control procedure, the tomatoes were released for free sale.
