During the upcoming edition of the Winter Open Field Days, Rijk Zwaan is addressing new market demands by providing innovative solutions with one main objective: to improve the entire value chain. Longer shelf life, more reliable yields, increased resistance, and no compromise on taste – all these factors contribute to steady progress.
Highlights Winter Open Field Days
Rijk Zwaan will present its novelties and existing concepts in all leafy crops for both the fresh and the fresh-cut industries and for all market destinations. In addition, the company will show innovative production systems, such as direct sowing and machine harvesting. Moreover, various technologies specifically for hydroponics will be on display, including varieties adapted to the Mediterranean climate and mid-tech cultivation.
Live demonstrations
As in previous editions, the Winter Open Field Days will feature a full program of activities. For example, there will be demonstrations of ‘Automated transplanting in high density’ for lettuce and kale crops, as well as a demo of ‘Field de-coring of Iceberg Knox’ for Iceberg lettuce.
The Winter Open Field Days will be held from 13-17 February 2023 at Rijk Zwaan’s ‘La Palma’ CED (Experimental and Development Trial Centre) in Cartagena, Spain.
