LED lights, new greenhouse projects, research presentations, new varieties, belated New Years Wishes. The Sival 2023 had it all. The International Plant Production Techniques Exhibition, organized annually in Angers, closed its doors on Thursday evening.
Traditionally, the Sival takes place in the first month of the year. Last year, the show took place in March, but this year it happened on its normal dates, meaning that many horticultural and agricultural suppliers traveled to Angers last week.
This year, SIVAL counted 26,000 visitors, and 700 exhibitors including 15% international exhibitors, and the amount of greenhouse specialists is on the rise as well again.
Several new varieties were among the highlights of SIVAL. For example, the CleanLeaf® eggplant from Rijk Zwaan France and the flat ribbed tomato Roujande from De Ruiter/Bayer. Seed breeder Gautier even took the occasion to launch their completely new company's identity. With France being their base market, it made sense to seize the opportunity for a fresh start.
