The Fragaria strawberry from Fruits Ràfols has been awarded the 2023 Flavor of the Year award. This is the third consecutive year that it received this distinction given by consumers in a blind tasting carried out by independent sensory laboratories. This award is the result of the evaluation that consumers make of the product based on different parameters, such as the product's appearance, smell, taste, and texture.
"Obtaining the Flavor of the Year award for our Fragaria strawberry for the third time in a row is the confirmation of the good and consistent job we carry out on a daily basis," stated Eduard Ràfols, manager of Fruits Ràfols.
Fragaria has been on the market since 2018, and throughout this time, it has captivated the most demanding customers with a unique taste and textures. "Consumers have to try Fragaria to rediscover the color, flavor, and texture of the freshly picked strawberries, a fruit with many healthy properties," he added.
According to Fruits Ràfols, the formula for this success is to take care of the entire process, from the field to the table of consumers. "It is the work of the entire team that participates in the fields, taking care and pampering the land, plants, strawberries, as well as the care in the collection of the fruits and how they are transported to the final consumer," the manager stated. More than a hundred workers intervene in this process to achieve placing a very select product from Huelva with extraordinary taste in Mercabana.
IFS Wholesale Plus Certificate
Fruits Ràfols continues to get good news. This year it has once again obtained the IFS Wholesale Plus V2 (Higher Level), a demanding quality certification that only ten companies in the fruit and vegetable sector in Spain have achieved. On this occasion, it obtained the highest score, with 97.64%, which places Fruits Ràfols in the 'top' of the ratings.
The criteria evaluated to obtain this certificate are food safety and quality through the analysis of the processes and the state of the facilities, among other things. The parameters that the evaluation process takes into account include the optimal conditions to preserve the properties and appearance of the products and to guarantee food safety.
