Growing vegetables in a sustainable way with 95 percent less water. Evert Vierhout from Hengelo accomplishes this by using the feces of his 15 goldfish. He is convinced of this practice, but the Dutch horticulturists don't want to adopt it yet, he tells EenVandaag.
In his shed of about 8 square meters, he has about 5 square meters of growing space. Among other things, he grows rocket, spinach, and all kinds of kale.
"I have a business model, but investors currently think there is not enough projection yet, because you have to calculate back to a selling price. Once it's larger scale, that price can obviously come down, but right now, it can't. The prices of an ordinary head of lettuce are also already relatively low."
