More than 200 million UAH will be spent on the restoration of Ukraine's irrigation systems

A total of 200 million UAH was allocated for the restoration of the irrigation system in the controlled territory of Ukraine. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotskyi.

“Thanks to the work of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we have liberated a significant territory of Ukraine, including agricultural land. As for these lands, the priority is their rapid demining and preparation for spring field works. In addition, 200 million UAH has already been allocated to restore the irrigation system in the controlled area, which will increase productivity,” he said.

Also, according to Vysotskyi, thanks to cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), more than 30 thousand sleeves for the temporary storage of grain were distributed free of charge. We are talking about additional storage for more than 5 million tonnes of agricultural products, as well as the necessary technical equipment for filling these bags and unloading them.

He also noted that direct and indirect financial losses in agriculture this year due to the war could amount to about $40 billion.
