Russian Scientists develop new technology for Plant Breeding

Skolkovo (Russia), Dec 30 (ANI/ TV BRICS): The scientists at Skoltech Agri-technologies Design Centre are using the latest breeding technologies to produce plants with special qualities. They are producing wheat that can grow in permafrost and other forage crops that are immune to diseases and pests. They grow twice as fast and can easily take root where they have not previously been seen. For example, the bean crop guar, originally from India, is gaining popularity all over the world. The gum contained in it is used in cosmetics production, the food industry, and even for treating oil wells.
