There is a call for better visibility, traceability, and efficiency coming from all the actors in agriculture and food supply chains. Consumers are demanding it, food production and retail are getting organized for new due diligence regulations, and for managing their corporate social responsibility, farmers need to be able to show and leverage their valuable position in the food chain.
GS1 believes that standards are essential in getting this job done and improving the value chain for all the actors, from farm to fork and even beyond. This is why the organization has decided to give this topic special focus during the next GS1 in Europe Regional Forum, hosted in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. On Tuesday, the 18th of October, there are dedicated sessions to inform you about what GS1 is doing in this domain. These sessions are:
■ Agriculture – Upstream first (10:30 – 12:00 CET)
■ The next fresh challenges (13:00 – 14:30 CET)
■ Plenary: From Farm to Fork and Beyond (15:00 – 16:00 CET)
