Georgia: Minister Shamugia vistis greenhouse created through state co-financing

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Otar Shamugia, together with the State Representative in the Imereti region, Mr. Zviad Shalamberidze, and the Majoritarian Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Mr. Bezhan Tsakadze visited the greenhouse created with the state co-financing in the village of Fartskhanakhanevi.

It should be mentioned, that farmer Givi Burjanadze invested Gel 150,000 for setting up a greenhouse in the village of Fartskhanakanevi. A preferential agro-credit has assigned funding of GEL 99,000 for creating a greenhouse, which employs 4 people and exports products to foreign markets.

"The state carries out several, important projects to promote and increase agricultural productivity, respective projects provide financial, technical, and marketing assistance to farmers. Therefore, the creation of greenhouses in compliance with international standards is one of our top priorities. Up to 1,600 loans worth GEL 132 million have been issued for the creation and development of greenhouses, where state co-financing exceeds GEL 21 million," said Mr. Otar Shamugia.

More than 700 loans worth GEL 37 million have been allocated for the creation and development of greenhouses in the Imereti region, where co-financing of the Agency exceeds GEL 6 million.
