Monitoring growing conditions and tracking strawberries with IoT apps

Wimbledon might be over, but strawberries at Hugh Lowe Farms are still growing. Thanks to Internet of Things technologies, the company says to be able to grow as efficiently as possible. And whereas Vodafone might not be the first partner you think of when hearing this story, they are the suppliers of the IoT technology helping the farm monitor their growing conditions and track the 1.5 million strawberries delivered to Wimbledon.

"Strawberries at Wimbledon are iconic – so getting them right is a must. A trusted supplier of 30 years, Hugh Lowe Farms hand-picks every strawberry at dawn each day of The Championships, ensuring they're perfectly ripe. This year, we helped Marion and her team deliver the best quality strawberries, on time, each day with our MyFarmWeb and Mobile Asset Tracking technology", they say.

With the tools growing conditions, including temperature and humidity, are monitored, and with the Mobile Asset Tracking technology, post-harvest information is shared.
