AppHarvest says facilities are 90% complete

"New farms start operating by the end of the year"

Last year, US Greenhouse company AppHarvest announced their plan to quadruple their farm network by the end of 2022. "Things have been moving fast," they say, revealing that three new farms are expected to start operating by the end of the year.

Diversify Portfolio
With three new farms, the company wants to accelerate sales growth and diversify its produce portfolio to include salad greens and berries. A 15-acre salad green facility is announced in Berea, Ky, a 60-acre tomato facility in Richmond, Ky, and a 30-acre berry facility in Somerset, Ky.

"Our 15-acre Berea facility is almost 90% complete and is expected to start shipping salad greens to top grocery stores and restaurants in the coming months. The 60-acre Richmond facility for tomatoes is approximately 85% complete, and the 30-acre Somerset facility for berries and cucumbers is about 80% complete", the company announces now.

"All three new farms are expected to start operating by the end of the year, joining the Morehead flagship farm that's been delivering tomatoes since January 2021."
