Coop presents new carrot packaging

Solution consists entirely of FSC certified paper and a cellulose net as a viewing window

As part of its sustainability strategy, Coop Schweiz is now using new plastic-free and recyclable packaging for all carrots in 1-kilogram packs. The innovative solution consists entirely of FSC-certified paper and a cellulose net as a viewing window. This saves the retail chain around 60 tons of plastic per year, they report in a short article.

The measure is part of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, 'Deeds not words.' This includes a transparent and consistent commitment to plastic reduction.
