Packaging with new unconventional materials

The Wrap Box 600 machine by GNA is for the packaging and protection of small or large crates containing seasonal fruits like apricots, cherries, and peaches as well as kiwifruits, apples, tomatoes, pears, and grapes - products destined to both the local and foreign markets. It uses standard and new, and unconventional materials.

Wrap Box 600 was designed for hot-gluing micro or macro-pierced films, extruded net+film, cotton or linen, and paper nets to cardboard or wood. "Companies are constantly called on to innovate, finding new solutions or improving existing ones. We thus need to tackle the challenges that the market poses every day."

The machine processes up to 30 crates per minute.

The reel of material is housed on the top part of the machine and unwinds in the same direction as the tray, i.e., the narrow side. "This means it can be centered with both films, nets+films or cotton or linen and paper nets."

The upper edges must be linear and compatible with the type of packaging to be obtained. The control panel is managed by a PLC and displays all the functions, parameters, and formats that can be planned depending on the tray size (20x30, 30x40, 30x50m, 40x60 cm).

The format change is managed automatically by the PLC. "Variations in width, height, and position of the label are entered in the format as well as the length of the film without the need for manual adjustments."

"There is a lot of interest for our machine from France, especially when it comes to the packaging of cherry tomatoes in cotton or linen and paper nets. In this country, just like in Italy, Russia, and Poland, feedback is good for applications with citrus fruit, peaches, grapes, apples, and apricots. In addition, our objective is also entering the Spanish market."
