Cabbage replaces lettuce on Australian burgers

Australia is also a victim of inflation. Lettuce used to cost about 3 dollars, but the war in Ukraine and the bad weather in March (especially in Queensland, the main producer of salads) have led to a record increase in the price of fruit and vegetables. As a result, some lettuces cost up to 12 dollars in some supermarkets.

The lettuce found in the hamburgers and wraps of the fast-food chain will now be replaced with “a mixture of lettuce and cabbage,” “until further notice,” as indicated on the front of the KFC restaurants. According to the latest figures from the consumer price index, the cost of vegetables have increased by 12.7%.
