Hort Connections 2022 day 3

Wednesday, June 8th, was the third and final day of Hort Connections 2022. Stand holders and visitors were as enthusiastic as on the first two days. Wednesday's sessions were in various halls, which meant less traffic in the main concourse, giving the stand holders more opportunity for in-depth conversations.

The session was opened by the newly appointed Hon Murray Watt, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry. This was followed by the customary State of the Industry hosted by Darren Keating from IFPA and discussed by a panel of guests.

Other speakers discussed the changing retail landscape, food safety practices, food waste, and digital marketing.

In the growing and farming stream, horticulture advocacy at a national level was discussed, along with taking advantage of the weather to maximize farming opportunities.

FreshPlaza will have the full photo report of the event up on Thursday, June 9th.
