With their new LED system, Kwekerij de Kooi in Drunen is taking a big bite out of its energy bill. And not only from the energy bill. FloriLED's solution also turned out to be much cheaper than those of most other providers, and the installation was so simple that it almost reminded us of 'just flicking a switch'.

In his three-hectare garden, grower Kees van der Wiel recently switched from tomatoes to strawberries. This also required a new, energy-saving lighting solution. In his search for a supplier, he found Arnold van Liempt, founder of FloriLED. With this company, he focuses on providing customized solutions where 'anything' is possible, but the focus is on simplicity and 'plug and play'.
We spoke to Onur Ince of InfaTechniek on location, who acted as an intermediary between the grower and FloriLED. "This system is ideal for the installer", says Onur. "It's really just a cable that you can unroll easily. The cords come in cut to size, so you have far less hassle with reels. You also don't need any welding boxes or days of welding, so that saves a lot of time. In addition, it is efficient and easy to hang up, and you connect everything by simply putting a plug in the wall socket."

In the process, the grower first puts his lighting question to the installer. The installer, in this case InfaTechniek, in turn, makes a design of the required solution, which he sends to FloriLED. The latter, in turn, delivers the complete package of cables and 12 Watt FloirLED lamps according to the drawings and requested specifications. The cable is neatly finished. Compared to conventional (LED) fixtures, the entire process is much cheaper and has the added advantage that it hardly captures any natural light.
Arnold van Liempt was brought up on entrepreneurship at an early age. "I grew up on an agricultural farm," he says later during a phone call, "so visiting growers feels a bit like coming home. With FloriLED we want to find the best solution in consultation with the customer and the installer. This customer case is a good example of that. The whole installation is tailored to his wishes and to Onur's, so our mission was successful."
