Turkey: Dikili TDIOSB to drill 7 geothermal wells for greenhouse heating

The application for geothermal resource exploration for the Dikili Agriculture-Based Specialized Greenhouse Organized Industrial Zone (TDIOSB) project, which is expected to be operational in the near future, has been accepted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Air Conditioning of Turkey. According to a piece of news shared, Dikili TDIOSB Directorate is planning to conduct 7 geothermal resource exploration drillings at the project site.

Dikili TDIOSB aims to produce 80 thousand tons of quality fresh vegetables and fruits annually, produced in technological greenhouses, to the domestic and foreign markets. The drilling wells are planned to be used in these greenhouses to produce fruit and vegetables.

The wells are meant to obtain geothermal fluid at a depth of 1200 meters, with a flow rate of 75 °C and 25 L/sec. Re-injection wells will be used to return the geothermal fluid planned to be used in greenhouse heating to the reservoir area. Thus, the expected energy from these drillings is approximately 18.7 MW, and the project value is calculated at approximately 2.8 million TL.
