"Chips are key in energy-savings and cost reductions of LED lighting solutions"

One of the biggest challenges in horticulture is how to reduce energy consumption. "LED lighting investment and electricity bills account for the highest proportion of plant lighting expenses. How to balance cost and benefit is the current challenge", says Tony Chen with Ledestar. He says LED chips are the key to the energy-saving and cost of LED grow lights. Ledestar has been improving performance and efficiency to reduce customers' operating costs.

Ledestar is a professional horticultural lighting LED component solution supplier. Tony, the head of its marketing department, explains: Ledestar was established in 2008 and has been focusing on horticulture lighting LED component since 2012. "We provide complete and professional LED component solutions for LED grow lights. Thanks to our long-term focus on this market segment, our R&D and business teams have rich experience, professional knowledge."

"Serving more than 1,000 plant lighting customers, we are one of the most popular LED component manufacturer in China that focuses on horticulture lighting applications"

According to Tony different plants require different light formulations, and at the same time need to find a balance between efficacy and cost. "An unsuitable light formula is not only detrimental to the growth of plants but also leads to waste of energy and increased production costs. According to the customer's plant planting scene and goals, Ledestar designs scientific horticultural light LEDs solution. The efficiency of LED grow light can be 3.6μmol/J and above."

Tony: "We have a mature and strong R&D and technical team, and 116 LED automatic production lines, with a monthly production capacity of 600 million LED diodes. Ledestar provides comprehensive technical service and support for LED component designs, solutions and lighting applications. So far, we have served more than 1,000 LED plant lighting customers, provided them with more than 2,936 sets of plant lighting solutions, and accumulated rich experience. Quality control and customer recognition are the core of our emphasis. From raw materials to technical design to production, we implement strict quality control of ISO14001 and TS16949 systems. The product is guaranteed for 7 years and has passed LM-80 ( Q90), ROHS, REACH, EN62471 and other certifications."

Tony concludes: "The output of light quality and light quantity adjusted in time according to the growth stage of plants is bound to become the main trend of future plant lighting technology development. We will adjust the power and parameters according to the needs of the crops grown by the customer and the actual environment. LED components account for a relatively high proportion of the cost of the entire plant lighting. We can reduce the cost by improving the parameters, which can help the growers to reduce the cost of a large part of the lighting."

Ledestar has conducted research on LED spectrum planting technology with Chinese scientific research institutions such as Peking University Optoelectronics Research Institute, Shanxi Agricultural University, and South China Agricultural University.  The company also has its own spectral cultivation laboratory to conduct more than 30 kinds of plants and corresponding spectral research experiments.

LED lightning solutions has many advantages such as high luminous efficiency, low radiation heat, small size and long life, and has obvious advantages in the field of plant lighting. And with the maturity of technology and the rise of modern horticulture such as urban agriculture, smart greenhouses, and vertical farms, growers have an increasingly strong desire to convert traditional lighting fixtures into LED lighting, and the LED lighting industry has ushered in a period of development.
