On April 8, Sun Qixin, Principal of China Agricultural University, presided over a special promotion meeting for the Shenzhen Smart Breeding Project. The meeting introduced the situation of the smart breeding project jointly promoted by the school, Huawei and Shenzhen and discussed and deployed the project research content, talent team construction, organization, implementation methods, etc. Vice Principal Tian Jianhui was present.
At the end of 2020, Sun Qixin led a team to inspect Huawei, promote the cooperation between China Agricultural University and Huawei in the field of smart agriculture, and put forward the concept and technical framework of animal and plant breeding robots. For more than a year, the scientific research institute has led relevant colleges and Huawei to jointly research and design the technical framework of smart agriculture. On April 2, it took the lead in conducting an expert demonstration on the smart breeding project.
Sun Qixin pointed out that smart breeding is a frontier field of scientific and technological innovation in the seed industry. The research and development involves multi-disciplinary cross-integration of crop science, informatics, artificial intelligence, etc., which is extremely exploratory and innovative. It is necessary to closely connect with Huawei and Shenzhen, actively promote, and jointly explore a new "government-university-enterprise" golden triangle innovation model to serve the revitalization of the national seed industry.
