Russia: succesful harvest of greenhouse vegetables

The production of greenhouse vegetables is growing! in Russia. As of March 25, 2022, 278.6 thousand tons of vegetables have already been harvested in winter greenhouses, which is 10.9% more than in the same period last year. Including the harvest of greenhouse cucumbers, total yields amounted to 174.6 thousand tons (+8.8%), and tomatoes – 86 thousand tons (+14.1%).

The gross harvest is also growing due to the introduction of new greenhouse areas.

Only since the beginning of this year, the work of several large complexes in different regions of the country has been launched. For example, in the Moscow region, Agrokultura Group launched the fifth stage of an investment project for growing vegetables and berries on 20 hectares, and in the Kaliningrad region, Orbita-Agro has almost doubled its capacity. Currently, more than 50 greenhouse complexes are under construction in Russia.
