Havecon continues to strengthen its ongoing business development efforts in the North American market. With a successful Canadian branch office already up and running led by Jon Adams, Havecon has been determined to add a local presence for its growing US customer base. In doing so, as the owner, Henk Verbakel notes, “You need someone local for our type of projects. Our belief is having someone who understands the customers, their demands, and the market is the ideal situation. In Justin’s case, he has experience living and working for Havecon here in The Netherlands, so he can guide customers through the entire process from investigation to realization. This allows us to support customers who are looking to find the most complete, high-tech solution in the sector.”
Justin started for Havecon in June 2021 at the HQ in The Netherlands, with the intention to bring back his experience and knowledge locally in the first quarter of 2022. Now, as planned from his initial hiring, the time has come for Justin Lukoff to be back on, as he likes to say it, his side of the Atlantic, to help support Havecon and Atrium Agri’s growth in the market. While many other Dutch companies are also looking to tackle the US Horticultural market’s growth trajectory, Havecon is taking a more direct approach by hiring a US citizen, with experience working at the heart of the sector in The Netherlands. Justin’s experience in the Netherlands has allowed him to learn from a variety of Dutch industry pioneers (growers, researchers, and technology providers) within the world of Controlled Environment Agriculture. Furthermore, Havecon has also opened up an office within the United States, which will be up and running in the very near future.
As Justin explains, “Living and working in The Netherlands has been a turning point in my career. It has allowed me to learn from the world’s best in high-tech farming solutions and I am certainly ready to take it to the next level in realizing world class projects with various customers around the country. Localized food production has never been in such high demand and we look forward to supporting customers and how they can supply fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers to the marketplace!”
