Oreon, a Dutch developer of high-tech LED grow lights, and Powerplus Group, a full-service mechanical and electrical company, have announced they are joining forces. The two companies will work together to provide water-cooled LED solutions to the horticultural market in the United Kingdom, as the nation looks to become more self-sufficient with increased investment into energy-efficient technologies.
Powerplus Group believes that the UK needs to move to a more sustainable food production. They are seeing considerable government incentives available to encourage the UK Horticultural and Floricultural markets to align with the continent’s offers within this market. Matthew Beeby, Head of Horticulture at PPG: “We want to support future innovation. The fragility of our current food infrastructure and the reliance on imports brought into question following Brexit will lead to further investment.”
The group’s expansion into the Horticultural sector will allow it to continue to provide its clients with the support and service they need, across all divisions of the business.
Mr Beeby added: “We see the use of water-cooled LED as being a highly beneficial addition to the horticultural industry here in the UK and to the products Powerplus Horticulture offers. With large-scale projects looking to utilize waste heat in the most efficient way possible, water-cooled LEDs provide us with an energy-efficient solution that can integrate into our more specialist solutions.
“We see Oreon as a welcome addition to Powerplus Group’s preferred lighting suppliers. With a blue-chip range of LED lighting options for water-cooled fixtures and strong company integrity, we see a very positive relationship going forward.”
International Sales Manager of Oreon, Peter Barentsen, said: “We have chosen to work with Powerplus Group going forward due to their company integrity and continued commitment to sustainable technologies. Their ability to work on all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing needs of an Oreon lighting installation makes them a perfect fit for us.
“We are very excited to partner up with the enthusiastic team of Powerplus Group. We see huge potential in this market and believe that our water-cooled LED fixtures can contribute to more sustainable food production in the UK.”
