'With Collitracker, you'll never lose trolley again'

Despite all the digitization, it happens quite often that trolley get lost. That costs money, sometimes a lot of it. In a few extreme cases, it even led to bankruptcy. Collitracker is a new service that allows for up-to-date cart registration and guarantees a real-time overview.

“Many clients try to keep an overview themselves with Excel, for example," says Collitracker founder and developer Soerinder Somai. “However, this takes a lot of time, it quickly becomes cluttered, and moreover, it is typically something that people do on the side. It is usually not at the top of anyone's priorities. Yet it should, given how often things go wrong. Because more and more direct trade is being done, there are no more registration links, making self-registering even more important."

Solution
Collitracker addresses this problem. You can log in and start directly with this online system. An API reads the data from different systems. It connects to systems that contain the details people use all the time. This prevents doing double the work, and the overview is retained when things go wrong the most - when last-minute changes are made.

Is it really that simple? “Yes," says Soerinder. “There's no installation. You just log in and begin. Your own way of working doesn't change. Customers get a code and log in;  that's all they need. You have everything right at hand."

Widely applicable
This system, including its handy app, will be available to nurseries and trading companies as we speak. The hope is that other sectors, like the fruit and vegetable sector or bakeries, will also begin using it. "Our system is suitable for all sectors that work a lot with carts, crates, and baskets. Of course, you must consider sector-specific factors, and that we still want to develop," explains Soerinder.

"When it comes to floriculture, we want to set it up so that you can see how many trolleys go out per client, and how long some have been there. Also, think of notifications, for example, when a customer exceeds a specific quantity or has the carts longer than a certain time, or a visual overview by country or region. That's useful for companies that operate within groups so that they can easily see where they can get trolleys when needed, or verifying a cart's authenticity to keep the pool clean."

Updates
Soerinder is very much aware that there's plenty to do. He has been involved in various digitization projects within the floriculture industry. "Collitracker uses new technology which doesn't bother users with updates. Apps and other software are sometimes down or falter for a while when you're tinkering on the back end. That can't happen here. If we're working in the background, the customer doesn't notice anything at all, and their logistical process isn't interrupted," he concludes.
